Bybel ("we", "our", "the App") is a daily Bible reading application. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive:
- Email address
This information is stored securely to maintain your session.
b) Cloud-Synced Data
If you sign in, the following data is synced to our servers so it can be restored across devices:
- Journey day count — to track your progress
- Favourite verses — bookmarks you save
- Journal entries — your daily prayer notes
c) Data Stored Locally Only
The following data is stored on your device and is never transmitted:
- Subscription status cache — for offline access
Local-only data is lost if you uninstall the App.
d) Subscription Information
If you subscribe, your subscription status, plan type, and expiry date are stored securely on our servers to manage your access. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google — we do not receive or store your payment card details.
e) Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not track which chapters you read, how long you use the App, or your behaviour in any way.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.
2. Third-Party Services
The App communicates with the following external services during normal use:
- Cloud infrastructure — Authentication, cloud sync & video streaming — data exposed: Email (if signed in), IP address
- Apple / Google — Sign-in & subscriptions — credentials handled by the provider
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate your session (if you sign in).
- Sync your preferences, favourites, and journal across devices.
- Deliver daily Bible content and videos.
- Verify your subscription status.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.
4. Data Retention
- Account & synced data — retained on our servers until you request deletion or delete your account.
- Local data — exists on your device only and is removed when you uninstall the App.
- Purchase history — managed by Apple or Google; we do not retain purchase records.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete your account — use the Delete Account option in Settings or contact us and we will remove your data from our servers.
6. Children's Privacy
Bybel does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App's content is suitable for all ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption and secure authentication protocols. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on our website with an updated effective date.
